Benefits of Whole-Wheat Flour over White Flour



Different foods have different nutritional value; even white flour and whole wheat flour consist of different nutrients although being prepared from wheat itself. White flour undergoes higher amount of processing as compared to whole wheat flour. Prestige India provides both and that too of high quality.   1. Fiber Content-
AS we know that white flour undergoes greater refining, therefore, white flour consists of lesser fiber content as compared to its counterpart.

  1. Blood Sugar-
In order to regulate your blood sugar after a meal, choose foods made with whole wheat flour. High glycemic index leaves you hungry after a short interval and also irritates you. Wheat flour has a GI of 51 and white flour of 71, so here you get a reason for the intake of high amount of wheat flour as compared to white flour.

  1. Vitamin Content-
White flour definitely consists of lesser amount of vitamin as compared to whole wheat flour, as due to its processing, the vitamin content gets reduced. Some food manufacturers, in order to combat the vitamin content in white flour, add additional vitamins to it thereby converting it into vitamin enriched white flour.

Now, when you know the nutritional value of both white and whole wheat flour, you also know, which one to choose at a greater rate, white flour is beneficial in its own way and whole wheat flour in its own.
