Different foods have different nutritional value; even white
flour and whole wheat flour
consist of different nutrients although being prepared from wheat itself. White
flour undergoes higher amount of processing as compared to whole wheat flour. Prestige
India provides both and that too of high quality. The differences in
nutritional value of white flour and wheat flour are as follows:
- Fiber Content-
AS we know that white flour undergoes
greater refining, therefore, white flour consists of lesser fiber content as
compared to its counterpart.
- Blood Sugar-
In order to regulate your blood
sugar after a meal, choose foods made with whole wheat flour. High glycemic
index leaves you hungry after a short interval and also irritates you. Wheat
flour has a GI of 51 and white flour of 71, so here you get a reason for the
intake of high amount of wheat flour as compared to white flour.
- Vitamin Content-
White flour definitely consists of
lesser amount of vitamin as compared to whole wheat flour, as due to its
processing, the vitamin content gets reduced. Some food manufacturers, in order
to combat the vitamin content in white flour, add additional vitamins to it
thereby converting it into vitamin enriched white flour.
Now, when you know the nutritional value of both white and
whole wheat flour, you also know, which one to choose at a greater rate, white
flour is beneficial in its own way and whole wheat flour in its own. Whenever
possible, mix both of them in order to make dishes so that both taste and
nutritions can be maintained.
